Pas ready to cooperate with police over Jalur Gemilang poster error

SHAH ALAM – Pas is ready to hand over the individual responsible for the incomplete depiction of the Jalur Gemilang on a promotional poster for the Teguh Memimpin Terengganu (TMT) gathering, if requested by the police.

Pas information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said the party remains fully committed to cooperating with the authorities.

“We’ve never been unwilling to cooperate. If there’s a request to hand over the individual, we’ll do it, no issue on our end.

“The ones being secretive are from your own party, the very one mired in corruption. It’s your party that’s in disarray,” he said.

Previously, Pas Terengganu issued a public apology over the controversy surrounding the TMT 2025 gathering logo, which featured a Jalur Gemilang star with an incomplete number of points.

The event’s secretariat later confirmed that the logo had been withdrawn and replaced with a corrected version.

PKR deputy information chief Chua Wei Kiat had criticised Pas’s apology, describing it as inconsistent, especially considering that Pas Youth had previously been outspoken in criticising similar mistakes made by Chinese-language newspapers.

He said Pas Terengganu should not merely apologise but should instead hand over the person responsible for the error to the police.

In response, Ahmad Fadhli took a swipe at Wei Kiat, urging him to familiarise himself with the country’s laws before making public comments.

“I suggest he take the time to understand the law first. Under the law, we only comply if there’s an official request from the police to hand someone over. We can’t just surrender individuals without such a request,” he added.
