Sabah PKR backs Anwar’s aide as next youth chief
PETALING JAYA: Sabah PKR Youth has thrown its support behind Kamil Munim as the next PKR Youth chief.
In a statement today, its chief Zaidi Jatil said this was based on Kamil’s track record as PKR Youth deputy chief.
“His cooperation with (PKR Youth chief) Adam Adli has strengthened the youth’s confidence in PKR’s struggle.
“In addition, his experience as the finance minister’s political secretary will be a key asset to him taking on this responsibility,” he said.
Malaysiakini previously reported that nine PKR Youth state chapters had declared their support for the aide to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim as the party’s next youth chief.

Besides Sabah, the states backing Kamil are Penang, Perak, Selangor, Kelantan, Terengganu, Johor, Perlis, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.
Kamil had said he was considering contesting the PKR Youth leadership in the May polls.
Adam meanwhile announced that he would be running for a position in the central leadership committee.
Zaidi praised Kamil for delivering his views and ideas with clarity, and for his influence among the youth both within and outside of the party.
“As the national PKR Youth deputy chief, Kamil has also come to Sabah no less than eight times, proving his commitment and concern for Sabah PKR Youth,” he said.
