If Budget 2021 Is Sabotaged, Is Anwar Going To Become PM9?

So, which part of that is not true? And why is Anwar angry with the truth? Is Anwar saying that Pakatan Harapan can sabotage Budget 2021 and nothing is going to happen and that it will be business as usual? Most importantly, what makes Anwar think that if Budget 2021 is sabotaged then he is going to become PM9?

(Malaysiakini) – Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim today accused Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz of embarking on a campaign to deflect the “concerns” held by the “majority” of MPs on Budget 2021.

This was in reference to Zafrul’s claim yesterday that the government will be unable to pay salaries of civil servants and front-liners if Budget 2021 was not passed by the Dewan Rakyat.

In a statement today, Anwar, who had sought amendments to the budget in his opposition leader’s speech on Monday, said Zafrul’s statement sounded like a threat.

“I think his statement was insipid and sounded like a threat. It appears to be part of a plan to sideline the voice of the majority of MPs.”

“I am confident that (Parliament) can devise a budget, or amendments, that are better suited for the rakyat,” he said.

Anwar said his speech on Monday had stated that civil servant salaries, operating expenditure and allocation for front-liners will be supported by the opposition.

“I repeat my call for the government to review Budget 2021. The opposition will only support it if the budget was really meant to deal with Covid-19,” he added.

Anwar Ibrahim’s favourite word is “concerns”. He will use this word every time he needs to justify his opposition to anything. However, he will never explain clearly what those so-called “concerns” are.

This is a typical drama-queen tactic from Anwar who loves to pretend that whatever he does or says is motivated by his “concerns” — for his religion, race, king, country, etc. This was what the Nazis also did when they sent six million Jews to their deaths. It is merely an excuse to sanitize what you are doing and to make yourself appear noble.

Okay, Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz has already explained Budget 2021 in detail here: https://www.malaysia-today.net/2020/11/15/bersama-menteri-kewangan-tengku-zafrul-tengku-abdul-aziz-full-interview/

Maybe Anwar can explain which part of that explanation he is not happy with.

If Anwar feels Budget 2021 still lacks certain things and can be improved further, what are they?

Anwar says the Finance Minister is trying to deflect the “concerns” held by the “majority” of MPs on Budget 2021. What concerns are those?

Other than he wants another six months moratorium on loan repayments and EPF contributors to be able to withdraw a maximum of RM10,000 from their savings, what else?

Anwar is angry that the Finance Minister said if Budget 2021 is not approved by Parliament then on 1st January 2021 the government can no longer spend any money and civil servants would not be paid any salary.

Is this a lie? Is this not true? Can the government continue to spend money as usual if Parliament rejects Budget 2021 and does not approve it? if Budget 2021 is rejected, how is the government going to spend money?

Not only will the salaries of civil servants be stopped, but money for other things as well will be affected, such as money for the state governments. Loans cannot be repaid. Development will need to stop.

Contractors for goods, services and other things, such as construction jobs, would not get paid. Companies that depend on government payments to pay their staff salaries would not be able to pay their salaries, rent, loans and other expenses. Companies would need to be closed down and staff would need to be retrenched.
