Anifah to take legal action against Shafie Apdal

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Anifah Aman does not want to fall into Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal’s dirty smearing campaign against him and his family.

“I will be taking legal action after the elections,” Anifah sternly said.

He was responding to Shafie’s accusation that he, his older brother and family members, had secured a 100-year contract for lands belonging to Yayasan Sabah.

Anifah, who is Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) president, strongly denied the accusation, saying he could not believe Shafie would stoop so low to resort assassinating his character and that of his family just to try to win the election.

“Is he that scared of me?” he asked.

He said what Shafie did only shows how desperate Warisan is to win the election.

“It’s seems Warisan is not confident in their own governance that they had to resort to smearing campaigns,” said Anifah, who is also a former Foreign Minister.

He also said it was unethical and unprofessional of Shafie and advised him to stop playing dirty by attacking other people’s family.

However, Anifah said he would not waste his time on the Semporna MP.

“I’ll deal with this issue after the election”

“For now, what’s important for me is to focus on the people of Sabah,” he said adding that his party will be releasing its manifesto which is an “Aku Janji” (My Promise) for Sabahans tonight.
