Condolences to the people of Lebanon, investigate those responsible

LETTERS: We are shocked and express our sympathy to the victims of the explosion at the port in Beirut, Lebanon, yesterday.

We express our condolences to the Lebanese people who are devastated by the huge explosion incident that left many dead and injured.

The explosion at the port near the city of Beirut, measuring 2700 tonnes from an ammonium nitrate warehouse, has not been confirmed as the cause.

However, we think that if there is a conspiracy to destroy Lebanon, it is due to the existence of a leadership crisis in the country which is taken advantage of by the Israel who have been wanting to weaken Lebanon.

The instability of the West Asian region is of benefit to Israel. We regret that the Arab leaders in the region are still divided and in dispute with each other resulting in the whole region in crisis.

We express our sympathy and solidarity to all Lebanese people. We pray for their resilience through these bitter moments and that all leaders from various political parties in the country need to unite to help the Lebanese people.

Lebanon bears a heavy burden in the region. In the midst of the severe economic and political crisis in Lebanon, it still accommodates millions of Palestinian and Syrian refugees.

We are confident that the people of Lebanon can come out of this severe test and rebuild as a stable and strong country.

We hope that the cause of the explosion will be investigated and those responsible are punished accordingly.

We also expect international agencies as well as world leaders to immediately send humanitarian aid.
