#PrkKimanis : Abdul Rahman takes Muhyiddin and Azis to task

Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the Federal Government should absorb some of the Sabah Temporary Pass (PSS) holders and share the burden with Sabah if these passes are issued.

He was commenting on Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s statement that holders of PSS, which is expected to be implemented in June this year, would have limited movement only within Sabah.

“We were disappointed when Muhyiddin came here, the people were hoping he would announce for PSS to be cancelled or at least delayed … unfortunately it will continue. If this pass is issued under the Immigration Act, let’s share the burden as this is not just Sabah’s problem but a national problem.

“The holders should be given the opportunity to move to West Malaysia and find jobs and stay there.

“How can we share issues like oil and gas, but when issues that have been plaguing Sabah, the peninsula does not wish to be involved,” he said during campaigning yesterday,

He also lambasted Deputy Home Minister Datuk Azis Jamman for claiming only 136,055 eligible immigrants would be issued with PSS as it was already announced the numbers would be as high as 600,000, if families are included.

Parti Bersatu Sabah president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Johnity Ongkili echoed this, stressing that Azis should not confuse voters here.
