Two Melaka PKR reps who staged walkout at state assembly sitting must explain actions, says Fahmi

The two PKR assemblymen who walked out during a Melaka state legislative assembly sitting will have to explain their actions, says PKR communications chief Fahmi Fadzil (pic).

Their actions had resulted in a motion to appoint Melaka PKR chairman Datuk Halim Bachik as senator being rejected.

Fahmi said Ginie Lim Siew Lin (Machap Jaya) and Datuk Muhamad Jailani Khamis (Rembia) would be asked to provide an official explanation to the party leadership as to why they walked out of the hall when the motion was being voted on.

“The Melaka state legislative assembly is still in progress, and will expedite the matter.

“We will ask them to explain verbally over the phone first,” he said when met at Parliament lobby on Tuesday (Nov 26).

On Monday (Nov 25), all 13 Barisan Nasional assemblymen opposed the motion, while 12 Pakatan Harapan assemblymen voted in favour.

Both Lim and Muhamad Jailani were not in the hall when the vote was taken.

The decision was announced by Speaker Datuk Omar Jaafar.

The Melaka State Legislative Assembly ends on Tuesday (Nov 26).

On the incident where the service centre of PKR Youth chief Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir was splashed with red paint earlier Tuesday, Fahmi said he did not want to speculate on the motive behind the incident.

A dead chicken attached with a threatening message was also found at the scene.

He added that police are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, Akmal, when met at the Parliament lobby, confirmed that he had lodged a police report in Johor Baru.

He claimed the dead chicken found outside his service centre was meant as a death threat against him, but refused to divulge details of the message attached to it.

Akmal also did not want to speculate on the motive behind the incident.
